There was a great turnout of 24 riders for tonight’s club 25 mile time trial on the Portaferry Road. Fastest was Mark Kane (Northern Dave Kane) with 54:58 – just 38 seconds slower than his course record set last year.
Fastest Ards rider was William Gill who was delighted to set a new personal best in club competition with 59:18. Matt Ormeisher was next fastest Ards rider, recording an excellent 1:00:35 in his first club 25 mile time trial.

In the McFarlane Trophy, worked out on a scratch basis on all club 10 and 25 mile time trials, William picked up maximum points tonight and is now joint leader with Robin Millar. Last Tuesday’s 10 mile time trial was cancelled due to the weather, but the committee are hoping to reschedule it for later in the summer, so that means there are still 2 events to go in this competition, and everything still to play for!
