After battling through the mist to the summit of Scrabo this evening, two riders finished on exactly the same time – Ricky Topping (Ards CC) and last year’s winner David Spalding. They both crossed the line in 5:14, just one second slower than David’s winning time last year.
There were contrasting styles at the finish, with Ricky pedalling his bottom gear while David powered out of the saddle in a bigger gear.
Geoff Brennan (Ards CC) took third, just ahead of Luke Joyce (Kinning) and first junior James Alexander (unattached).

Thanks as always to the time keepers, marshals and pusher off.
And good luck to the Ards CC team in the Newry 3-day this weekend – Gareth Murray, Kyle Adams, Ian Carson and Paul McMinn. They’ve a lot to live up after the great performance in Donegal.
