Riders start to gather for the “off”
Riders enjoyed a great day’s cycling at the Ards CC promoted Tour of Strangford Sportive today.

Some of the Ards CC riders at the start
One hundred and fifty riders signed up, split evenly between the 50 and 80 miles routes. The early rain quickly cleared, leaving a dry and sunny day with a pleasant westerly breeze.

The sign on was busy
Thanks to all those who helped to organise the event, including the route markers, sign-on officials and those who helped with catering. Much appreciated!

There was a large variety of machinery on display
Special thanks to our sponsor Homegrown.

The 50 milers descending through Portaferry to the food stop.
And last, but by no means least, thanks to all the riders who made it such an enjoyable event, and who helped to raise money for our two nominated charities – Cruse Bereavement Care NI and Action Mental Health NI.

A couple of well fed 50 milers head out for the second leg.

The first 80 mile group suspiciously managed to catch the 11am ferry from Strangford.. :-)

More 80milers waiting for the 11.30 ferry..

An Ards CC group, delayed by a puncture, driving hard to catch the 11.30
