Eleven enthusiasts lined up for this evening’s rescheduled hill climb on Bradshaw’s Brae.
Showing no ill effects from the tough Newry 3 Day at the weekend, Andrew Hedley stormed up the one mile climb in 4:04 to take the win by 6 seconds from Stewart Miller (North Down).

Mark Hedley prepares himself mentally for the challenge ahead
The battle for third was very close, with Marc Allen (another survivor from the Newry 3 Day) tying with Barry Mitchell (who recorded a personal best 10 on Sunday) both on 4:29, and regular club winner John Rafferty just 2 seconds further back.

Ards CC has a strange tradition of finishing short distance time trials at bus shelters…
Thanks as always to the timekeepers and pusher off.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Andrew’s grandfather Peter Hedley on Sunday. Peter was a great supporter and volunteer in the club when Andrew’s father Mark and uncle Lee were racing in the 1980s. Our sympathies to Andrew and the whole family circle.
