This year’s Tour of Ards was originally pencilled in for Saturday 20th March. Unfortunately, with coronavirus restrictions still in place, it won’t be possible to run it on that date. But there is some good news – we’ve been allocated a new date – Saturday 29th May.
We’ve also published the draft club race calendar for 2021 (you can also find a link to it in the “Club Events” menu tab at the top of the page). This is still subject to government and Cycling Ulster restrictions being lifted. In particular, it is likely that we’ll need an entry system and to restrict numbers like we did last year – at least for some of the earlier events. Watch this space for more details.
We’ll have a further update, and details of the approach for club runs, after the NI Executive’s next review of the local restrictions.
Finally, we’d urge anyone who hasn’t already done so to renew their club and Cycling Ireland membership. This gives you valuable insurance, and covers you at all times on the bike – not just formal cycling activities. All members should have received an email before Christmas, but if you’ve any queries you can contact our Secretary Stephen Beattie here.
