End of Year Bash

The club’s End of Year Bash was held at Le Winters on Saturday evening. It was a great chance to meet up with everyone in a relaxed environment, present some prizes, and enjoy the Chairman’s quiz!

The stylish and well organised table plan set the tone for the evening.

Many thanks to Liz, Darren, Stephen and their team for organising a very enjoyable evening.

The chairman didn’t make a speech. He’s just warming up the mic in this photo..

The food was excellent. Alex Porter suggested taking some photos…

Some of the main prizes from the club race programme were presented on the night (although Peter McLean had to self isolate at short notice, and he won about half the trophies…). Here’s the list of trophy winners.

The club runs a medal scheme based on club time trials at 5, 10 and 25 miles. See here for more details on the club trophies and the medal scheme. Stuart Millar won the Bradshaw’s Brae shield and the hill climb trophy (for Scrabo). Can you spot a pattern..?

Finally, everyone who rides a 5, 10, 25 or 10k time trial gets a certificate. Here’s the list.

(If you see any mistakes in any of these tables, let us know and we’ll get it fixed).

Andrew Jess won the Vet’s Best All Rounder. Apologies for the blurriness – the Belgian chocolate profiteroles must have been more potent than I thought.

And a reminder. In addition to our regular club runs, we have two big events left this year.

  • The club Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 24th November in Le Winters. This is your chance to discuss how the club is run and our plans for next year.
  • The Christmas 10 mile time trial, 25th December 10am, on the Portaferry Road. A classic..

Look out for more details shortly.
