A big thank you to everyone who helped make Sunday’s Tour of Strangford sportive in aid of the Samaritans happen. It was a great day out. The weather stayed dry and everyone got round safely. We had around 100 entries, and we were particularly encouraged to see a number of our younger riders tackling and completing the event – well done!
In particular, thanks to the Samaritans volunteers for supporting us at the start and providing bananas, sweets and water, and to Ards Bowling Club for the HQ.
Thanks to John, Liz and team for looking after everything at the bowling club, those who brought traybakes and buns, and the broom wagon team. And to Dean for pulling it all together.
Thanks to Deli-licious Cafe Portaferry for catering and St Patrick’s Community Hall for the lunch stop.
The sausage baps disappeared in a blur…
Thanks to those who marked the route.
But most of all thanks to all of you who supported the event whether by donating or riding. We hope you enjoyed the day out and look forward to seeing you next year!
(And Ards CC members – don’t forget the casual branded clothing night this Wednesday evening (28th) from 7pm to 9 pm in Londonderry Park.)
