Although it was chilly for tonight’s opening club time trial of the season, there was a strong south easterly breeze blowing riders up the straight in course from Greyabbey to Newtownards and the records tumbled. A great turnout of 32 riders set out on the hunt for glory…
Alan Patterson looks well chuffed with his win and course record
Fastest on the night was Alan Patterson (AHC Racing), who broke the course record with 11:45 for the 10km. Only Fraser Duncan and Mark Kane, riding a 2-up together in 2014, have gone faster with 11:39. Ian Inglis (Kinning Cycles CC) and Andrew Hedley (AHC Racing) also dipped under the previous solo record.
Kieran McNamara drives for the finish line, taking nearly 3 minutes off his personal best time from last year.
Five Ards CC riders had personal bests. Kieran McNamara had the biggest improvement, and he takes an early lead in the 10km Handicap Cup.
