Funeral Service on Friday 23rd April 2023 at 3.30pm in Lisnabreen Presbyterian Church, Lisnabreen Walk, Bangor.
The club was saddened to hear of the passing of John Stewart at the age of 90. John was a member of Ards CC from the early years, winning the club’s first BAR competition in the early 1950s. He continued to race regularly into his 70s. The picture below is from a 2-up time trial on the Portaferry Road in 1992, with former Club Chairman Bobby Magreechan.
John was always willing to help out at club events, working quietly in the background. In recognition of his long service to the club he was awarded life membership in 2005, along with Billy Kirk.
The club sends it sympathy to his family, and wide circle of friends at this time.
