Conditions were good for tonight’s rescheduled 10 mile time trial at Millisle, with the heat of recent days easing slightly and a gentle onshore breeze. Fastest on the night was Michael Boyd (AHC Racing). Second was Barry Mitchell (Ards CC), with a personal best time of 22:18. This was particularly impressive given that he’d completed a 600km Audax event at the weekend. And Stuart Millar (Ards CC) also recorded a personal best 22:40 to take third, enthusiastically cheered on by the Millar fan club.

Club 10 mile time trials count towards both the 10 mile handicap trophy and the McFarlane Cup. But in the first 10 this year we encouraged riders to use a road bike to be eligible for inter club league points. The committee decided that times recorded in the first 10 (on 25/4) should not count towards handicap. The current standings in the 10 mile handicap trophy are therefore as follows, with one event left to run.
10 Mile Handicap Cup
Name | 6/6 | 4/7 | Total | |
1 | Ian Carson | 10 | 10 | |
2 | Stuart Millar | 7 | 7 | |
3 | Dean Bradley | 5 | 5 | |
4 | Barry Mitchell | 3 | 3 | |
5 | Ben Healey | 2 | 2 | |
6 | James Lemon | 1 | 1 |
The McFarlane Trophy is worked out across all club 10 and 25 mile time trials on a scratch basis. It was decided to include the results from 25/4 in this competition, so the current standings are as follows with two events left to run.
