Ards Cycling Club wish to thank Holywood-based property developers Wirefox who have chosen to sponsor our established ‘Spring Classic’ which will see 80 riders race around the beautiful Ards Peninsula for the coveted Tommy Brown Memorial Trophy.
The route has is slightly longer than last year and features 3 laps of a more challenging circuit at Portaferry. The classic finish up the Strangford Lough coast road remains. Total distance is 140km. The full route can be viewed here.
Again we have the support of the PSNI motorbikes to assist with the running of the event. Thanks also to club sponsors Romas Bar and Bistro Newtownards and Chain Reaction Cycles and See.Sense.
As usual, we are accepting applications for entry on Entry Central – applications are open until Wednesday 15th March. The race committee will meet and finalise the start list shortly after this. Riders will be notified by email and a start list will be published on our website.
We have permission from the police for an 80 rider field.
Eligible categories – A* to A3 Jr. All riders must have a valid Cycling Ireland licence – no one day licences will be issued.
Total prize fund is £ 750 with £175 for the winner.
